This year, the preliminary task was a substantial collaboration between AS & A2 Media Studies Students. Our task was to recreate a renowned piece of visual art, yet the most intriguing idea was to go for a music video. The music video ‘Dil-e-Nadan’ is based on the lyrics penned by the famous Urdu poet from the 18th century ‘Mirza Ghalib’. Since, we had a lot of skilled crew members on board, I managed this project as a producer alongside another crewmate. My major area of dealing were Marketing, Accounts, and Creative department. It was my job to arrange the set; which was made available on our college campus, plan out the budget, look for finances, shop necessary props and items, control my crew’s activity yet allow them to be creative and active. After the development of story line, I keenly looked into the casting matters, and after holding several auditions I was able to finalize some of the finest actors who appeared before us. I made sure our crew is divided into specialized task groups to catalyze the project in the best way possible. The rehearsal before a trial shoot continued for a week, once all the arrangements, equipment, teams, props, and set were good to go we shot this video within a single day of shoot on 17th October 2020. After the production phase, the other producer looked after the post-production matters whereas, I engaged myself into shortlisting influencers to whom we can send out PR packages. With the help of strategic digital marketing campaign lead under my guidance, and support from the influencers, ‘Dil-e-Nadan’ has crossed over 40,000 views from all collective platforms today.
